Verbier is certainly a great resort to spend skiing New Year, the 4 Vallees Network, offering some of Europe's best skiing, and Verbier itself, never sleeping! And after skiing on new Years Eve, well it is going to be one hell of New Year celebration!! Verbier is as world famous for its apres skiing as it is its skiing! Numerous bars and one of the best resorts for atmosphere, least of all the ski New Years Eve week!
In the town their are great ski chalets, but if you are looking for the quieter way to see in the New Year, how about Tzoumaz, a great little town that ensures there is more than enough to do on New Years Eve, without the excess!! And the skiing is still linked to the Verbier 4 Vallees!

Luxury Catered Chalets
This week we are focusing on Chalet Auriane in Tzoumaz, part of the Verbier 4 Vallees network. This 5 bedroom luxury catered chalet is the ideal family ski chalet for up to 12 people with the ski chalet accommodating 8 adults and 4 children in 5 en-suite bedrooms (one master bedroom, three doubles / twin, and one bedroom with two bunk beds sleeping four).
Chalet Auriane itself is exceptional value and would probably be double the price if it was just over the mountain in Verbier, so here you can enjoy a large luxury catered chalet in Verbier's 4 valleys ski area, that won't upset your bank manager! The interior blends the traditional character of a wood and stone chalet, with contemporary and stylish living. The leisure spa room with sauna, hammam, river shower are more akin to chalets double the price and the relaxation area including an outdoor Jacuzzi ensure any stay at Chalet Auriane is nothing less than a luxury one.
In terms of Tzoumaz, this is a great family friendly ski alternative to Verbier itself as it provides access to the same Verbier 4 valleys network, without the expense! The town itself is smaller than its big brother but there are still some great bars and restaurants to frequent and it has a friendly, less demanding profile that will appeal to those that want great skiing, but don't need to apres ski until 4am in the morning!
So if you are looking for outstanding luxury, a great town where you don't need to be up until 4am in the morning, or just a great family friendly ski chalet, this might just be up your street!

Ski Verbier
To Ski Verbier is special and one of the best ski experiences you'll have, whether from an on-piste, off-piste, or apres ski perspective. Part of the 4 Vallees ski area, that includes Verbier, Thyon and Nendaz, Tzoumaz, Verbier offers high altitude skiing in cultured, hip, and fun atmosphere.
Verbier 4 Vallees skiing network is world renown, the skiing is some of the best in Europe and to get the most out of a ski Verbier holiday, you will want to be a confident intermediate or expert, although the Savoleyres areas has a seperate beginners area. The 'Wall' at the top of mont Fort (3,330m) is legendary, but I for one prefer the stunning scenery of Tortin below it. Many years ago a black piste (but never pisted), nowadays a great Off-piste Itinerary Run (marked in Yellow on the piste map). Real experts will find some great skiing on and off the piste, and with a guide might want to show friends that real skiers don't even bother with the wall, as they prefer to pop off the back of Mont Fort where it is just as steep, but has fresh tracks!
In the resort the bars are full of life and extensive, and certainly not for the faint hearted. The restaurants and bars start as soon as every one leaves the slopes, and they won't close much before first lifts! Being switzerland, its chic, fun nightlife attracts a discerning crowd, both friends looking to party, but also family ski groups who want to ski the best snow and the best ski resorts.
Enjoy your ski Verbier holiday.
